Denver Swappers Get Creative in the Garden

A beautiful morning for a swap in Denver this past Saturday at our favorite spot, West Washington Park Community Garden. A dozen swappers came with their tote bags, coolers, and baskets filled with amazing treats, sweet or savory…or both!

Lee, a regular swapper, was cutting a variety of eggplants right fromĀ a plant in his plot to swap – talk about fresh-picked! There was also fresh baked quick breads and fauxnuts (baked donuts), sweet sesame cookies, and delectable rice pudding made with foraged raspberries and cavasia. Let’s not forget about the savory goods, like pickles, bean dip, curries, rice pilaf, and cashew-onion-curry dip.

The best part had to be the berry liquor cocktails being mixed and handed out for all the try. Refreshing and put a smile on all our faces. Now, that’s how you start the weekend!

Hope to see all of you and more at the next Denver swap. September date and place are being worked out – stay tuned!
